VU University Amsterdam Netherlands Fellowship Programme for Students. The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) provides a once-in-a-lifetime chance for brilliant non-EU/EEA students to study a Master’s degree at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Scholarship Worth and Benefits:

The tuition expenses are covered by the VUFP scholarship. The VUFP scholarship does not include any additional funding for education or living expenses.

Top Trending

The VUFP scholarship is available for either a one-year or two-year Master’s degree. Only if 100% of the credits from the first year have been completed will the scholarship be continued for the second year of the two-year Master’s degree.

You immediately apply for the Holland Award Program when you apply for the VUFP scholarship. There is no need for a separate application. If approved, the HSP is a payment toward living expenses of 5.000 EUR or 10.000 EUR per year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You do not qualify for the reduced tuition cost since you do not have a passport from the EU/EEA.
  • You are not a citizen of the Netherlands.
  • You’ll be able to demonstrate your academic proficiency (GPA equivalent to a Dutch 8).
  • You have been accepted conditionally or unconditionally to the first year of a full-time English-taught Master’s programme at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, which will begin in September 2022. Students starting in February are not eligible to apply, and combined programmes for which VU Amsterdam does not oversee the admission procedure are not eligible for VUFP.
  • You did not get the degree with which you are seeking admission in the Netherlands.
  • You are not required to finish a preparatory programme before beginning your Master’s degree.

Application Procedure

Please note that you must first apply for the Master’s programme and be conditionally accepted before applying for the VUFP scholarship.

By the 15th of December 2021, students must have registered for a Master’s programme in Studielink (from 1 October 2021). Then, before February 1, 2022, you must submit your VUFP application and accompanying documentation in your VU dashboard (from 1 December 2021).
