End-of-Year SBA Date Sheet and Schedule. End-of-Year SBA – School-Based Assessment (SBA) 2025 Schedule Announced. The End-of-Year SBA – School-Based Assessment (SBA) 2025 schedule has been officially announced for students from Grade 1 to Grade 8 in Punjab. The Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) has provided detailed timelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the assessment.

The assessment will take place in morning and afternoon shifts according to the following schedule:

• Morning Shift: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Friday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon)
• Afternoon Shift: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for End-of-Year SBA 2025

1. Item Bank System (IBS) & Paper Generation

• The Item Bank will be uploaded onto the Item Bank System (IBS) on March 3, 2025.
• The End-of-Year SBA 2025 has been developed in accordance with the syllabus and Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) as defined in the Academic Calendar.
• All question papers will be bilingual, except for English, Urdu, Tarjuma-tul-Quran-ul-Majeed, and Ethics. Schools have the option to generate subject papers either in English or Urdu.
• Each school must log into the IBS to generate system-generated question papers, which will include a scannable QR code displaying complete school information along with the EMIS code.
• The system-generated papers for Grades 3 to 8 will be two pages long and will contain a scannable QR code. The marking keys and rubrics will be automatically generated along with the papers.

2. Assessment for Grades 1 & 2

• The assessment for Grades 1 and 2 will be oral for all subjects, consisting of five (5) sections of twenty (20) marks each.
• Only one written question per subject will be included for English and Urdu to assess students’ writing skills.
• For Grades 1 & 2, teachers will require one colored print of each subject paper, which will consist of four pages.

3. Listening, Speaking, and Reading Skills Assessment

• The assessment of listening, speaking, and reading skills in English and Urdu will be conducted on a separate day.
• The questions for these assessments have been provided in the rubrics.

4. Assessment of Optional Subjects

• Schools will develop and conduct assessments for optional subjects following the Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) pattern.
• The structure will consist of:
  • 32 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) – 48 Marks
  • 5 Constructed Response Questions (CRQs) – 52 Marks
• These assessments will be reflected in the Student Report Card accordingly.

5. Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) & Report Cards

• Schools will organize a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) on April 3, 2025.
• Student Report Cards will be prepared in the prescribed format (available in the school’s IBS login). These report cards will be shared with parents during the PTM.
• Schools must maintain and update the Assessment Register for all terms.

6. Compliance & Monitoring

• Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities (CEOs-DEAs) must ensure that schools generate papers through IBS using their own school logins.
• The SBA must be conducted as per the given SOPs and schedule (Annex-A).
• Special monitoring teams will oversee SOP implementation and schedule compliance during both the assessment and marking phases of SBA 2025.

7. Communication & Access for Schools

• CEO-DEAs will circulate the SBA 2025 schedule to all public and private schools for optimal utilization of IBS.
• Private schools should contact their respective CEO-DEAs to obtain their login credentials and passwords for generating papers through IBS.
• CEO-DEAs are responsible for ensuring the proper implementation of all SOPs for End-of-Year SBA 2025.

The Punjab Examination Commission has issued strict SOPs to ensure smooth and transparent assessments:

1. The Item Bank System (IBS) will provide question papers with scannable QR codes.
2. The question papers will be bilingual, except for subjects like English, Urdu, Tarjuma-tul-Quran, and Ethics.
3. Grade 1 and Grade 2 assessments will be oral, except for one written question each in English and Urdu.
4. Listening, speaking, and reading skills will be assessed separately for English and Urdu.
5. Schools will conduct assessments for optional subjects based on the PEC pattern.
6. A Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) will be held on April 3, 2025, to distribute report cards.
